━ Why implants

More than a replacement tooth

— a replacement root.

When a tooth is lost, the bone that once supported it begins to shrink, neighbouring teeth drift and the bite changes. An implant is placed into that bone to stop the process, restoring function without cutting down healthy adjacent teeth as a bridge would.

Preserves jawbone and facial support

Eat, bite and speak as you would with a natural tooth

Nothing is removed at night and no adhesive is needed

Adjacent healthy teeth stay untouched

Planned digitally from a 3D CBCT scan before surgery

━ Implant treatments

Planned in 3D, delivered in one place.

Every case begins with a CBCT scan and a detailed written plan, so you know exactly what is involved, how long it will take and what it will cost.

Sinus lifts

Complex bone grafting

━ Suitability & recovery

What implant treatment involves.

Good candidates

One or more missing teeth, or a failing tooth due for removal

Healthy gums, or gum disease stabilised beforehand

Enough bone volume — or bone rebuilt with grafting

Non-smokers, or willing to stop around surgery

The first week

Mild swelling and tenderness for two to four days

Soft diet on the surgical side, no hot drinks day one

Ordinary painkillers are usually enough

Salt-water rinses from day two, no brushing the site

Long-term care

Interdental brushes or implant floss around each implant

Hygiene visits at the interval we recommend

Night guard if you grind your teeth

Annual review of the crown, bridge or denture and screws

━ Implant fees

Implant costs, itemised.

━ The journey

From first scan to final tooth.

01

Assessment & CBCT

A 3D scan of your jaw, photographs and a gum health check to confirm exactly what is possible and where implants can be placed.

02

Digital planning

Implant positions are planned on screen and shared with you in a written quote, along with any grafting needed and the full timeline.

03

Surgical placement

Placed under local anaesthetic, with sedation if you prefer. Temporary teeth mean you never leave with a visible gap.

04

Restoration & review

Once the bone has integrated we fit your definitive crown, bridge or denture, then review and maintain it long-term.

━ Implant FAQs

Dental implant questions.

Implant treatment is a significant decision. These are the questions patients and referring dentists ask us most — and we’re always happy to answer more at consultation.

An implant is a small titanium screw placed into the jawbone to replace the root of a missing tooth. Bone fuses to its surface over several weeks, and a crown, bridge or denture is then attached on top. It is the only option that replaces the root as well as the visible tooth, which is why it protects the surrounding bone.

Most healthy adults are. What matters is bone volume, gum health and general medical history — smoking, uncontrolled diabetes and untreated gum disease all reduce success rates. We take a CBCT scan at consultation so suitability is based on your actual anatomy, not an estimate. Where bone is limited, grafting or a sinus lift often makes treatment possible.

Placement is carried out under local anaesthetic and most patients describe it as more comfortable than an extraction. There is usually some tenderness and swelling for a few days, managed with ordinary painkillers. Oral or intravenous sedation is available if you would prefer to be fully relaxed.

A straightforward single implant typically takes three to five months from placement to final crown, allowing time for the bone to integrate. Grafting adds a few months. Full-arch Smile in a Day cases can have fixed temporary teeth fitted on the day of surgery, with the definitive bridge made later.

With good hygiene and regular maintenance visits, implants routinely last 15–20 years and often a lifetime. The crown or bridge on top is the part most likely to need replacing eventually, much like any other restoration.

Single implants start from £2,350 including the crown, with full-arch and grafting cases quoted individually after your scan. Every case is confirmed in a written plan before treatment, and you can ask us about spreading the cost.

Yes, and it is one of the most transformative treatments we provide. As few as two to four implants per arch can hold a denture firmly in place, restoring confident eating and speech and removing the need for adhesive.

Not necessarily. As a referral centre we regularly treat cases other practices decline, using sinus lifts, block and particulate grafting and guided surgery to rebuild lost bone volume. A second opinion with a CBCT scan is often worthwhile.

Brush twice daily, clean between the implant and neighbouring teeth with interdental brushes or floss designed for implants, and attend hygiene appointments at the interval we recommend. Implants cannot decay, but the gum and bone around them can still be lost to infection if plaque builds up.
